What it means to find that one person, that great love: Oliver Polak describes nothing less in his latest book L’amour numérique. Or, to say it with Toto, the band: Hold the line. Love isn’t always on time.

In different episodes, Polak talks about the uplifting and the disillusioning challenges of modern love. Search, swipe and date – this is how the adventures usually begin, set against the backdrop of the most romantic of all places, a Parisian café. And the encounters arranged like this end in a faux pax at times, other times in a disarmingly human way.

L'amour numérique is truthfully invented and at the same time saturated with experience. A deep soul striptease of the inner self, because in the end the protagonist meets only one person: himself. Does he meet women in order to love them or does he only meet them so as not to love himself?

A book about longing, desire and tenderness in an uncertain world. Leonard Cohen, Batman, Oliver Polak: the great lovers with thirsty hearts.
