Current series based on Suhrkamp bestsellers under development

The Unexpected by Christoph Nußbaumeder is one of the works currently being turned into a series. Lutz Seiler’s novel Star 111 is also under option and contract for a series production.
Nußbaumeder's debut novel follows the rise of a dynasty of entrepreneurs in Bavaria over more than a century. Lutz Seiler's novel, which won the Prize of the Leipzig Book Fair, unfolds a panorama of the initial post-reunification years in East and West Germany.
The Cold One, Robert Schindel’s 2013 novel about Austria during the »Waldheim years«, is currently being developed as a miniseries.

Lutz Seiler

Lutz Seiler was born in Gera, Thuringia, in 1963 and today lives in Wilhelmshorst near Berlin and in Stockholm. He underwent training as a mason and a carpenter and completed his studies in 1990. Since 1997, he has been the literary director and custodian of the Peter Huchel Museum. He was writer-in-residence at the Villa Aurora in Los Angeles and at the German Academy in Rome. His many prizes include the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize, the Bremen Prize for Literature, the Fontane Prize, the Uwe Johnson Prize, and most recently the Georg Büchner Prize.
