Sybille Ruge’s new novel
9mm Cut is the sole German entry chosen for this year’s “Shoot the Book!” event at the Cannes Film Festival, which presents books that are well-suited to film adaptations to international producers.
The novel focuses on the shady machinations surrounding an NGO in Zurich. Once again, Ruge has placed a hard-boiled anti-heroine at the centre of the plot, a private investigator going by the name of “Eve Klein”. Sibylle Ruge’s prize-winning first novel,
DAVENPORT 160 x 90, is set to be made into an English-language film, with contract discussions nearing their conclusion.
