International Literary Prize »Aleksandar Tišma« for László Darvasi

László Darvasi has been awarded the International Literary Prize »Aleksandar Tišma« for his collection of short stories, Wintermorgen.

The Aleksandar Tišma Foundation, founded in 2016, awards the 10,000 Euro prize every two years. The literature prize carries the name of the Serbian novelist and member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences, Aleksandar Tišma (1924-2003). The award ceremony will take place 24 June 2019 in Novi Sad, Serbia.

László Darvasi, born in 1962 in southern Hungary, has worked as a teacher and journalist. He came to prominence as a poet and published short works of prose and novellas. Darvasi, who lives in Szeged and Budapest, is considered one of the greatest talents in Hungarian literature. In 2019, he received the »Aleksandar Tišma« International Literary Prize for his work.
