For more than 150 years, dedicated feminists of all genders have been fighting for equal rights. But to this day, women’s equality is not a reality in most (if not all) societies. Why is that? Where are women still disadvantaged? How do misogyny, structural sexism and the patriarchy determine their everyday life? And what can we do to finally create lasting, meaningful change? What effects do gender, class and money have on the lives of women? What role does social background play? There are many questions and calls to action, but few answers and implemented results. For this year’s International Women’s Day, we have compiled a list of recent works by our authors that try and provide answers to these and many more questions.
»International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. The International Women's Day 2023 campaign theme is #EmbraceEquity.
Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #EmbraceEquity.« (Source: IWD)
