Bora Ćosić was born in 1932. He studied philosophy in Belgrade and went on to work as an editor at various literary periodicals. Today, he is widely considered one of the most important authors of former Yugoslavia. In 2002, he was awarded the Leipzig Book Award for European Understanding.
