His literary works have been awarded various prizes, including the 2013 Premio Municipal de Literatura de Santiago de Chile. Un verdor terrible is his third book. It was shortlisted for the 2021 International Booker Prize and is longlisted for a National Book Award for Translated Literature in 2021.
