On April 23, 2023, Reinhart Koselleck would have celebrated his 100th birthday.
Reinhart Koselleck was born in Görlitz in 1923 and is one of the most famous German historians of the 20th century. He worked as a professor in Bochum, Heidelberg and Bielefeld and was active as a member of numerous academies and colleges. He pioneered studies on the history of the European Enlightenment, the theory of history and the history of concepts in his groundbreaking works for which he was awarded the Historian’s Prize of the City of Münster in 2003 and the Sigmund Freud Prize in 1999. He died on February 3, 2006, in Bad Oeynhausen.
On the occasion of Koselleck's 100th birthday, Suhrkamp Verlag is publishing Solidified Lava.
